Move to Close the Gap 2018
Move to Close the Gap 2019
Dear sports enthusiasts, supporters, and friends
2019 is the year of an important milestone for Close the Gap, namely our 15th anniversary.
For 15 years now, we have been working to bridge the digital divide.
With more than 800,000 donated IT assets, more than 5000 projects in more than 50 countries and more than 3,000,000 reached beneficiaries, we think it is time for a celebration.
2019 will also be the year Close the Gap sets foot in Kenya, with our own refurbishing and e-waste recycling plant and an innovation hub to host and support African tech entrepreneurs and start-ups.
This, in combination with a 15th anniversary celebration event, leads to the decision to postpone Move to Close the Gap to an edition in 2020.
So, see you next year. whether by bike, on foot or at the sideline!
Move to Close the Gap Results
The 8th edition of Move to Close the Gap (formerly Bike to Close the Gap) took place yesterday, on June 11, 2018.
The beautiful weather, the 200+ motivated participants and the generous sponsors made this day a success. A record 100,000 was raised to support Close the Gap in its mission to bridge the digital divide. Two novelties: The Patersberg location was traded for the Zolder Circuit and the introduction of a special parcours for joggers.
Click here to find the scores of the cyclists and joggers. Some cyclists achieved more than 100 kms in just 3 hours. Congratulations!!

What is Move to Close the Gap?
This 2018 edition of Move to Close the Gap is organised and sponsored by Close the Gap, DNS Belgium and GUIDOOH. Move to Close the Gap is an initiative that originates from Bike to Close the Gap. After seven editions, not only cyclists will be welcome, but runners will be able to enjoy themselves on this sporting event. Close the Gap, DNS Belgium and GUIDOOH join forces once again to make sure the digital gap is narrowed, together with you onJune 11th 2018.
Move to Close the Gap is a sporting event, but certainly not a competition. Were not cycling or running against each other, but with each other and with a common goal: raise funds to provide access to ICT to disadvantage children and young adults in Europe and in developing countries.
Apart from accommodating runners and cyclists alike, Move the Close the Gap will also happen on a brand new location: the well-known racing circuit at Zolder! Apart from the unique experience of running or cycling on a racetrack, this location also enables us to invite our partners and sponsors located in the South of the Netherlands.
Last year, we raised 96.750 euros, and this time, were aiming even higher! And for that, were counting on you!
Have a look at our sponsoring packs and invite the employees, friends & partners of your company to conquer the famous racing circuit at Zolder and help us bridge the digital divide. A great initiative, isnt it?
And the winners are…
We are not cycling against each other, but with each other, for a common goal. The winners are the children and young adults in developing countries, who thanks to our efforts, get a chance to discover the wondrous world of ICT.

The event will be followed by a barbecue. It’s the best way to digest the cycled kilometres and to network with the people from DNS Belgium and other (IT or not) companies.
