About DNS Belgium
In 1999, ISPA, Agoria and Beltug established the not-for-profit organisation DNS.be, now DNS Belgium. Our aim is to register domain names, to make the internet more accessible and to support its usage.
Since 2008, DNS Belgium and Close the Gap have been working together to close the digital divide. The funds that are generated are distributed in Central and East Africa and in Belgium. For project applications in Belgium, the King Boudewijn Foundation selects the projects that receive PCs with software, support and training.
With that equipment, we help organisations that help teach people how to learn to operate in the digital society. Thus far, we have provided more than 10,000 PCs and have reached more than 150,000 people.
About Close the Gap
Close the Gap is an international non-profit organisation that aims to bridge the digital divide by offering high quality, pre-owned computers and mobile devices donated by large and medium-sized corporations or public organisations to educational, medical, entrepreneurial and social projects in developing and emerging countries. With a 100 € donation, you can offer an A-quality computer with software to be used in a social project in Central or East Africa.
